Q. When & where is the festival?
A. Because good things are best appreciated in small doses, we are organizing a 9-month film extravaganza from March to November 2017. Each month will feature a screening of carefully curated films focused on a specific film category, interactions with student filmmakers and members of the jury, followed by the announcement of the category winner. Q. What are the eligibility requirements for when my film was completed?
A. Early Submissions before 30/12/2016: Films are to have been completed during the year 2015-2016. Late Submissions after 30/12/2016: Films are to have been completed during the year 2016.
Q. What’s the maximum film length?
A. While we value the endeavors of filmmakers who oversee feature length films, we can only screen films of a maximum of 30 minutes total running time.
Q. What is the fee to submit my film to BSFF?
A. Early deadline fee for 2017 is $0.00. Late deadline fee for 2017 is $15.00.
Q. When is the submission deadline?
A. Early submissions are due by 31/12/2016. Late submissions must be received by 31/01/2017. If you run into any problems please contact us.
Q. Can I submit more than one film?
A. Yes, each entry needs to be submitted individually.
Q. I work or am involved with a University/College/School/Film Society and need to submit a large batch of films, what do I do?
A. Please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org, we'd love to help you out.
Q. I am now graduated/no longer a student, can I still submit my old student films?
A. Yes! As long as the film was made whilst you were a student we’d love to see it. Keep in mind the completion date requirements for each deadline date.
Q. When will I find out if my film is selected for the BSFF 2017 official screening?
A. Films that have been selected as: accepted, semifinalist and finalist to BSFF 2017 will be notified by a message via FilmFreeway between February and March 2017.
Q. When will winners be named?
A. Winning films will be announced monthly between March - November 2017.

Q. What is the preferred way to submit a film?
A. We recommend uploading your video directly to FilmFreeway. FilmFreeway accepts all major video formats in full quality HD up to 10 GB. They transcode videos for playback compatibility and performance and recommend that you use settings close to their output settings:
Maximum video bitrate: 2200 Kbps, H.264, mp4
Audio: 128 Kbps, AAC, 2 channel stereo
Aspect ratio preserved; maximum video height of 720 pixels
